Recipe: Sisig
February 13, 2011Everytime we hear Sisig we think about Booze! Back in the Philippines everytime my friends and I go out to drink we never fail to order Sisig as a side dish. Usually it is paired with beer (well I eat sisig with rice! hahahah). Anyways here is a simple recipe of sisig.
Ingredients:
4 pcs. Pig Ears
1/2 lbs. Pork Belly
1 Onions (white)
Red Chili
Calamansi or Lemon
1/2 cup Mayonaise
3-4 Tbsp Liver Spread
1/4 Soy Sauce (or Knorr Seasoning)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Procedure:
Boil Pigs ears and Pork Belly until soft but not to the point that it will be too mushy. As much as possible we still want it to have a little bit of texture.
Chop into small pieces and saute until golden brown in color.
While sauteeing, make a mixture of Mayo, liver spread, soy sauce and Calamansi (or Lemon juice)- the amount of which is according to your taste.
When the meat starts to brown, add in Onions. Saute till onions turn Opaque in color.
Mix in the sauce mixture and saute for 5 - 10 mins. Add Chopped chilies.
Adjust the taste by adding salt and pepper.
Served while hot! If you have a sizzling plate the better!
I hope you enjoy this simple recipe. Please feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!
