Recipe: Stir Fried Vegetables in Oyster Sauce
May 28, 2010Ingredients:
Beans/ String Beans
Egg plants- Sliced diagonally
Nappa Cabbage Chopped into small pieces
Carrots - peeled and sliced diagonally
Garlic - minced
Onions- chopped/ diced
Oyster Sauce
Hoisin Sauce (optional)
Canola/ Olive Oil (any cooking oil will do)
Procedures:
Prepare all the needed ingredients.
Make sure that the vegetables are rinsed well.
Saute the onions and garlic.
**Make sure the oil is hot enough
When onion starts to turn opaque in color you may add the carrots and saute for a couple of minutes.
**what I do is I add the vegetables that takes awhile to cook.
Then stir in the egg plants.
After stirring in the egg plants what I do is gradually introduce flavor in the vegetables. I added 3 tbps. of oyster sauce. Stir the vegetables to evenly coat them with the sauce.
Stir in the beans.
And lastly, add the nappa cabbage.
** I added the cabbage last because it really takes a very short time for it to cook. We don’t want soggy vegetables. As much a possible we want to preserve the crisp in the vegetables.
At this point you may want to add more oyster sauce (depending on your taste)
or if you want an added twist to the flavor, add 2 tbsp of Hoisin sauce (to add a sweet-tangy effect)
Finish product!!!
Hope you enjoy this recipe.
